Impress Communications Collects Two Awards at PIASC 2008 Print Excellence Competition

Awards Are Pre-Cursor to the Print Industry's Prestigious "Benny" Awards

Chatsworth CA—Impress Communications ("Impress"), the San Fernando Valley's premier commercial printer and all-in-one visual communications provider, collected two awards at the PIASC 2008 Print Excellence Awards Banquet, a trade association serving the graphic arts community in California. Impress' distinctive capabilities were recognized with an Award of Excellence for specialty printing, and a coveted Best of Show glass sculpture for demonstrated superiority.

"My team is passionate about the details on every job we undertake," says Paul Marino, Impress' executive director. "To win Best of Show means the piece we created was judged flawless, both technically and in presentation. The winning four-color Jamba Juice presentation folder captured the client's colorful and playful brand concept perfectly." In the Specialty Printing category, the idea deck Impress created to demonstrate the results of UV ink imprinted on styrene plastic proved irresistible to the judges and also received kudos. Account executive, Ryan Green, represented Impress in accepting the awards.

The PIASC contest was open to any graphic arts firm located within the membership region, and all submissions had to be produced within the state of California during the 2007 calendar year. Three tiers of recognition were designated from Award of Merit to Award of Excellence and one Best of Show for each award category.

Our Best of Show entry now moves up to compete with other national winners and international competitors in the 2008 Premier Print Awards ("the Bennys"). This is the industry's most prestigious international awards competition sponsored by PIA/GATF (Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation).

Printing Industries Association, Inc. of Southern California (PIASC) was founded in 1935, and incorporated in1944. PIASC is the largest graphic arts trade association in the nation, with more than 1,600 member companies in Southern California. Company members of PIASC also become a member of Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF), the world's largest graphic arts trade association. PIA/GATF represents an industry with more than 1.2 million employees and serves the interests of more than 12,000 member companies.
