Impress Debuts Komori's First SX29 Press

Chatsworth CA—Impress Communications, a leading media and communications company, is pleased to announce the debut of the first-ever 6-color Komori Lithrone SX29. This fully automated, versatile press has the ability to print on a wide range of substrates using specialty inks, UV inks and coatings.

Keeping with Komori's tradition of developing printing presses that offer full connectivity and compatibility, the Lithrone SX29 was developed for today's customer driven printing industry. Through a combination of value-added features that centralize control, increase print quality and reduce printing costs, the SX29 establishes a new standard of printing excellence delivering superior operating ease and spectacular short-run performance.

The Komori SX29 is configured with a specialized UV System offering a world of creative combinations at your fingertips. From glitter-flecked glossy clear coats and matte finishes that emulate suede in look and feel to high gloss finishes that pop images from the page, this press adds a distinctive edge to packaging, POP displays and signage.

According to Komori's Dan Quenzer, "Komori was extremely selective in choosing a facility that could comprehensively test all of the SX29's innovative features. Impress Communications was a natural choice. Their position as one of the largest printers in Southern California, their understanding and application of printing on various substrates and their willingness to work with all of the automation tools Komori has developed, provided the perfect environment in which to assess the full capabilities of the SX29."

With two other Komori Lithrone presses already up and running at Impress, this newest addition rounds out the company's print capabilities. Impress Executive Director Paul Marino said, "Perhaps the most impressive feature of this machine is its lightening fast print speed. Starting at 16,000 sph the SX29 reduces waste and gets to a sellable sheet faster than any press on the market—making it a friend to today's environment."

Mr. Marino added, "It is an honor to be working with a company as renowned and exacting as Komori. We adhere to the highest standards of quality and our commitment to customer satisfaction begins with an investment in the most advanced equipment to get the job done quickly and accurately. Impress has consistently taken the initiative in using technology creatively to assist our clients in making an immediate and memorable impression in the marketplace. Our experience in color, attention to detail and hands-on approach in working with emerging technologies will allow us to fully explore the spectrum of features the Lithrone SX29 offers and further strengthen our position as a premier commercial printing facility."

Impress Plant Manager Jon Worthing is excited to put the new press to the test. He said, "The SX29 will give us the capability to produce virtually any job our clients can dream up. This machine is fully automated to support Impress in meeting the tight delivery schedules and quality expectations of today's highly competitive printing marketplace."
