FSC LogoEarth Day comes but once a year, but we all know the call to "reduce, reuse, and recycle" is gaining global urgency. So the question arises: why choose an FSC-certified printer? It's easy. FSC-certified printers demonstrate commitment to sustainability.

The non-profit Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) encourages responsible forestry by tracking paper and other wood-based products from the forest to finished product through its global certification standards and Chain of Custody (CoC) auditing procedures. Paper marked with the FSC logo means it originated from legal and well managed forests. By creating demand for FSC products, these forests are more likely to stay intact, and the local economies of people in these regions are not disrupted. FSC is supported by recognized environmental organizations like the World Wildlife Fund, Rainforest Alliance and Greenpeace.

Increasingly, companies large and small specify FSC papers as their pledge to a greener world. As an end-user who can tout the attributes of the paper you've chosen by using the FSC logo on relevant printed materials, you can spread the word for sustainability even farther to your audiences. It's worth considering!

Arbonne NTC Invite

Art of the Invite

Beauty client Arbonne International needed a unique, expressive presentation for their corporate invitation, one that reflected the company’s reputation for innovation. Utilizing Arbonne’s graphic layout, Impress designed and engineered a pattern of leaf shaped die-cuts that overlapped in perfect registration on several panels. An overall dull UV varnish with areas of spot gloss UV create visual texture on this award-winning invite.

At the recent PIASC 2008 Print Excellence Awards banquet, Impress went four for four! We entered our Self Promotion Brochure Envelope, the Arbonne NTC Invite, our UV Sampler Deck (last month's featured project), and the colorful Jamba Juice Presentation Folder (see our online portfolio). All four entries won! The Jamba Juice project earned top honors for Best of Show in its category. Each Best of Show category winner now moves up to compete in the 2008 Premier Print Awards, the industry’s most prestigious international awards competition. The PIASC is a trade association serving the graphic arts community in California.
